At SHER, we believe that the key to successful conservation lies in empowering the communities that live in close proximity to wildlife habitats. Our mission is to safeguard unique and vulnerable ecosystems by fostering empathy, understanding, and shared responsibility.
Conservation is not an isolated endeavor; it’s a collaborative effort that involves the entire biodiversity – humans and wildlife alike.
Through community engagement, dialogue, and education, we work to bridge the gap between these communities and the surrounding ecosystems. By helping them understand the significance of these habitats and the importance of coexistence, we create a foundation for sustainable conservation efforts.

We take great pleasure and pride in supporting SHER. The organisation under the leadership of Mr.Joydip Kundu, works holistically for the environment of a selected geographical area in West Bengal, the conservation of wildlife therein and the advancement of the communities peopling the region. Their work at the grassroots level is sincere, their projects are carefully thought through and their ‘giving’ Is born of genuine concern.
I wish SHER continued success in the excellent work that they are doing.

Saving the Tiger is not just about protecting a majestic animal — it’s about preserving an entire ecosystem. I feel deeply connected to this cause because every Tiger we save is a step towards saving our forests, our biodiversity, and ultimately, our future. My association with Mr. Joydip Kundu and also with SHER has been a journey of learning and action. He and his team are doing an excellent job on this selfless mission. I believe that awareness, compassion, and collective effort can bring real change. Let us all raise our voices for those who cannot speak — and ensure that the roar of the Tiger continues to echo through our forests.

SHER plays a pivotal role in both urban and rural areas, particularly in the Sundarbans. Their focused efforts in wildlife conservation, proactive conflict mitigation, and comprehensive community awareness programs directly contribute to the long-term viability of Sundarban’s unique biodiversity and local communities.

Joydip and Suchandra Kundu have been doing incredible work to inspire the youth to become sensitive to environmental issues. It has been my privilege to have been associated with many different projects that SHER has undertaken – ranging from training nature ambassadors and organizing bird watching meets, to screening films on conservation themes and collecting “pujor jama”. Working with SHER has helped innumerable children become more aware, more committed individuals. I wish the SHER team all the best and look forward to many more opportunities to collaborate.
One initiative like SHER is not enough. We need many more if we are to protect our rich but increasingly threatened wildlife and biodiversity. Wishing SHER and its entire team all the best for all they do.
